ALPHA STREET DEVELOPMENT

This project called for the design of a commercial three building retail and commercial development in the centre of the Cambridge township. Adjacent to the listed historical Cambridge Hotel, a distinct yet sensitive approach was employed which resulted in a design supported by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.
Clad in Anthra-Zinc profile sheeting, subtle evergreen glazing, coupled with timber planked textured precast panels, the development ensures both big and small tenants undertake business in a modern, urbane yet personal environment allowing each of the businesses to successfully market their branding but in a controlled manner in keeping with the Central Cambridge Character Design Guidelines. The development incorporates a mixture of small specialty retail and commercial tenancies through to larger format retail spaces allowing a diverse range of business to cohabitate within the close proximity of the three buildings.
