This multidisciplinary health centre is composed of practitioners from dental, pharmacy, physiotherapy, orthopaedic, midwifery, and specialist and general practitioner staff, creating a unique brief to encompass many different needs within a 'one stop shop' used by a range of practitioners.
A single level design has given an easy access and communality to the centre. The reception check-in is centralised, with waiting areas extending as wings, making way-finding simple and clear and creating a unity throughout the disparate spaces. A focal point is created by an atrium and adjacent landscaped area around the entranceway. This hub enhances orientation and acts as a visual calm in what can be a busy place.
The cohesion of efficient planning and high quality design helps to enable this medical centre to be a leader in a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare.
